Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Cassandra Studios EOOD ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the RunBlock mobile application (the "App").
RunBlock locks the apps you choose until you earn time by working out. We built it to be private by design: there are no accounts and we operate no servers of our own, so none of your data ever reaches us. Everything happens on your device — and, if you use iCloud, your balance, goals and settings also back up to your own private iCloud so they restore when you reinstall (see below).
Summary
- ❤️ Your Health data stays on your device. We read workout duration from Apple Health only to calculate your earned minutes, on-device. We never transmit or store it.
- 🔒 The apps you choose to lock stay private. Apple's Screen Time framework gives us only opaque tokens, so we can't see which specific apps you selected, and that selection never leaves your device.
- ☁️ We have no backend. No accounts, no sign-in, no servers of ours that receive or store your information.
- 🔄 Optional iCloud backup. If you're signed into iCloud, your balance, goals, history and settings back up to your own private iCloud so a reinstall or a new phone restores them. That's Apple's iCloud (your account) — not our servers, and we can't see it. Clear both copies anytime with Reset all data in Settings. Your Health data and the specific apps you lock are never part of this backup.
- 🚫 No ads, no tracking, no data brokers, no selling data. We include no analytics or advertising SDKs.
- 💳 The only personal data involved is what Apple needs to process your optional auto-renewable subscription, handled by Apple on the App Store.
1. Who we are
The data controller responsible for the App is:

2. Information we process
a) Health & fitness data (workouts)
With your permission, the App reads workout data from Apple Health (HealthKit), such as the workout type, start time, and duration. It uses this only on your device to calculate how many minutes of app time you have earned. We request read-only access; the App does not write to Health.
We never transmit, upload, or receive your Health data. It is not sent to us or to any third party, and it is used solely to provide the App's core earning feature. Health data accessed through HealthKit is never used for advertising or marketing, never shared with data brokers, and is not used for any purpose other than calculating your earned minutes. You can revoke Health access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health, or Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
b) Screen Time / app-selection data (Family Controls)
To block and unblock apps, the App uses Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time frameworks. When you choose which apps and categories to block, iOS returns opaque tokens rather than the identities of those apps. This means we cannot see which specific apps you selected, and your selection is stored only on your device (in a private, app-group container shared with the App's own Screen Time extensions). Device and usage information obtained through the Family Controls framework is used solely to provide the App's blocking and unblocking features; it is never shared, never used for advertising or advertising measurement, and never shared with a data broker.
c) Your balance and settings
Your earned-minutes balance, ledger, and preferences (such as your earning rate) are stored locally on your device and, if you are signed into iCloud, backed up to your own private iCloud (via Apple's iCloud key-value storage) so they restore when you reinstall or switch phones. This backup is between your device and your iCloud account — it is never synced to us; we have no servers and cannot see your iCloud. The specific apps you lock are not part of this backup. You can erase both the on-device and iCloud copies at any time with Reset all data in the app's Settings.
d) Purchase information (subscription)
If you start the optional RunBlock Pro subscription, the purchase and any free trial are processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The App uses Apple's StoreKit to check whether your subscription is active; this happens between your device and Apple. We do not operate our own payment servers and do not receive your name, email, or payment card details. We may see Apple-provided, aggregated App Store sales and subscription reports that are not linked to your identity.
e) Diagnostics
We do not integrate any analytics or advertising SDKs. If you have enabled Apple's optional "Share With App Developers" setting, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash and performance reports. This is controlled by you in iOS Settings and contains none of your Health data or app selections.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
- We do not access your location.
- We do not upload or store your Health data, workouts, app selections, or balance on any server.
- We do not learn which specific apps you choose to lock.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell personal data.
4. How we use information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- Calculate your earned minutes of app time from your workouts (entirely on-device);
- Block and unblock the apps you have chosen (entirely on-device);
- Enable, validate, and restore your optional Pro subscription;
- Understand and fix crashes and technical problems (via Apple's anonymized reports, if you opted in).
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: to deliver the App and process your subscription.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the App secure and reliable and to fix technical issues.
- Consent: for device permissions you grant (Health access and Screen Time / Family Controls authorization), which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings.
6. Third parties
We share information only as needed to run the App:
- Apple provides the App Store, HealthKit, the Family Controls / Screen Time frameworks, subscription processing, and (if you opt in) diagnostics. Your use of these is also governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not use any other third-party processors. Your Health data and app selections are never shared with anyone, because they never leave your device.
7. Data retention
- Health data is not retained by us at all; it is read on-device as needed and the computed result (your balance) is what the App keeps locally.
- Your balance, ledger, settings, and app selections remain on your device until you change them, reset the App, or uninstall it. Uninstalling removes this local data; if iCloud backup is on, a copy of your balance, goals and settings remains in your own iCloud (so a reinstall restores it) until you use Reset all data.
- Subscription records are retained by Apple according to its own policies for as long as needed to provide and support your purchase.
8. Security
Because your Health data, app selections, and balance stay on your device and we operate no servers, there is no central store of your information for us or anyone to breach. Your device's own protections (passcode, encryption, and app sandboxing) safeguard locally stored data. The optional iCloud backup of your balance, goals and settings is stored in your own iCloud account and secured by Apple. Subscription data is handled over encrypted connections by Apple.
9. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, or to object to it and to data portability. Because we hold almost no personal data about you (your Health data and app selections never reach us), most requests concern the subscription data held by Apple. You can contact us at hello@cassandrastudios.com and we will help direct or fulfil your request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; in Bulgaria this is the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP).
11. International transfers
Apple may process subscription-related data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App or the App Store listing.
