Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Cassandra Studios EOOD ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the GotTheShot mobile application (the "App").
We built GotTheShot to be private by design. The App has no accounts, no servers of our own, and does not upload your videos anywhere. Your footage stays on your device unless you choose to save it to your Photos library.
Summary
- 🎥 Your video and audio never leave your device through us. Buffering and captured clips are stored only on your iPhone.
- ☁️ We have no backend. We don't operate servers that receive, store, or process your recordings.
- 🔓 We don't sell your data and we don't use advertising or cross-app tracking.
- 💳 The only personal data involved is what's needed to process a one-time in-app purchase, handled by Apple and our payments provider (RevenueCat).

2. Information we collect
a) Camera and microphone (video & audio)
The App continuously buffers video (and, if you allow microphone access, audio) while it is open, so you can save the last several seconds after something happens. This footage is held only on your device — temporarily in memory and in a temporary storage area on the device — and is used solely to provide the App's core feature.
We never transmit, upload, or receive this footage. It is not sent to us or to any third party. Buffered footage is discarded automatically as the buffer rolls forward and when you stop or close the App. Clips you capture are stored locally until you export or delete them.
b) Photos library
If you choose to export a clip, the App saves that video file into your device's Photos library using Apple's standard photo-access permission. The App only ever adds videos you explicitly export; it does not read, browse, or upload your existing photos or videos.
c) Purchase information
If you buy the optional one-time "Pro" unlock, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store, and purchase status is managed on our behalf by RevenueCat, Inc. To validate and restore purchases, RevenueCat processes a randomly generated app-user identifier together with purchase/receipt data and limited technical information (such as device type, operating system, and country). We use this only to determine whether your unlock is active and to let you restore it on your devices. We do not receive your name, email, or payment card details from this process.
d) Diagnostics
We do not integrate any analytics or advertising SDKs. If you have enabled Apple's optional "Share With App Developers" setting, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash and performance reports. This is controlled by you in iOS Settings and contains no content from your recordings.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
- We do not access your location.
- We do not upload or store your videos, audio, or photos on any server.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell personal data.
4. How we use information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- Provide the App's core buffering, capture, and export features (entirely on-device);
- Enable, validate, and restore your optional in-app purchase;
- Understand and fix crashes and technical problems (via Apple's anonymized reports, if you opted in).
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the App and process your in-app purchase.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the App secure and reliable and to fix technical issues.
- Consent — for device permissions you grant (camera, microphone, Photos), which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings.
6. Third parties
We share information only as needed to run the App:
- Apple — provides the App Store, in-app purchase processing, and (if you opt in) diagnostics. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat, Inc. — manages in-app purchase entitlements on our behalf as a data processor. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
We do not share your recordings with anyone, because they never leave your device.
7. Data retention
- Recordings are retained on your device only: buffered footage lasts only as long as the rolling buffer, and captured clips remain until you export or delete them, or the App clears its temporary storage. Uninstalling the App removes clips held in its temporary storage.
- Purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their own policies for as long as needed to provide and support your purchase.
8. Security
Because your recordings stay on your device and we operate no servers, there is no central store of your content for anyone to breach. Your device's own protections (passcode, encryption, and app sandboxing) safeguard locally stored clips. In-app purchase data is handled over encrypted connections by Apple and RevenueCat.
9. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, or to object to it and to data portability. Because we hold almost no personal data about you (your recordings never reach us), most requests concern the purchase data held by Apple and RevenueCat. You can contact us at hello@cassandrastudios.com and we will help direct or fulfil your request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; in Bulgaria this is the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP).
11. International transfers
Our processors (Apple and RevenueCat) may process purchase-related data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App or the App Store listing.
